InstructorRevd Peter Chen
Instructor Bio
Revd Peter Chen left his secular vocation to serve God full-time at the age of 49. He did his theological studies in Regent College, Canada, and was ordained in the Diocese of Singapore after returning to Singapore. He and his wife Rosalind were members of SJSM for some 25 years prior to his posting to St Andrew’s Cathedral after his ordination.

Ps Peter is concerned with the dangers of shallow faith in believers today. His passions are to challenge and equip believers to be faithful witnesses both in the Church and in the world. He firmly believes that in a plural society like Singapore, it is critical to build in all believers the right doctrinal foundation and to help them live distinctively for Christ.

During his pastoral service, he had initiated and developed for the churches he served in, a holistic Christian Education Ministry and a Discipleship Program for both new and mature believers. Pastor Peter is convinced that God has called every believer to be a disciple and a disciple-maker.
Synopsis
Paul encouraged the Church in Philippi to live “a life worthy of the gospel” (Phil 1: 27). Is this Paul’s suggestion or God’s expectation of every believer in Christ? Many in the Church today claim that there is no need for transformation of life and we can live as we are. Is that true? What does “a life worthy of the gospel” look like and how can God’s people impact the world by the way we conduct ourselves and the way we relate to others? The course will look at the major emphases covered by Paul in his letter to the early believers.
